OBITUARY Iron River Reporter Feb 14 1963 "Rites For Mrs. Peterson Today At 2"
Funeral services for Mrs. Hilda Peterson, 82, of Gaastra, will be held this afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Johns-Fell Chapel in Iron River. The Rev. Clayton Parcels of the First United Presbyterian Church of Iron county will officiate.
Mrs. Peterson passed away Monday at the Iron County Hospital where she had been a patient for the past five years.
She was born Nov. 9, 1880 in Norway and came to this country as a young girl. She had been a resident of Gaastra for the past 50 years.
She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Iron county and an Honorary member of the Women's Association of the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 1938.
Surviving are one son Arvid of Iron River; three daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Ann) Friestrom of Iron Mountain, Mrs. Byron Battye of Indian Lake, and Miss Mae Peterson of Gaastra; one sister Mrs. Conrad Norman of Norway, Mich. and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Interment will follow in the Stambaugh receiving vault to await spring burial in the family lot.
Friends may call at the Johns-Fell Chapel.
