Robert Peralta at age 51, passed away at home May 5, 2011 after a long illness. He was born July 24, 1959 in Yuma, AZ.

Robert was a proud U.S. Navy veteran. He served from 1980 to 1985, as an electronic mate fireman aboard the USS long Beach CGN-19, guided missile nuclear cruiser and construction 0617 fighting Seabees.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Indra; loving parents, Lupe Peralta Baker and Robert Baker; children, Francesca Peralta, Savannah Peralta Vomacka and Holly Peralta; his step children, Haley Reily, Dallas Piscopo and Joseph Piscopo and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jacob Peralta and grandparents, Fernando and Maria Peralta.

Robert was a loving husband; father, son and friend. He loved God with all his heart and helped anyone in need up to the very end of his life. He will be greatly missed. He loved collecting antiques, fishing, camping, going to Diamondback ball games with friend Ruben Sanchez and playing with his 3 dogs.

Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 19 at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the Armed Forces Park, Gila Street and 2nd Street. A celebration of life will follow at his daughter Haley's home.

Many thanks to Desert Valley Mortuary for handling the arrangements, including the cremation. Also to Hospice of Yuma for their loving care they gave Robert in his last days.
