1910 - 2004
Funeral for longtime McMinnville resident Miriam H. Pearson will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of Macy & Son Funeral Directors, McMinnville. Delvin Zook will officiate.
She died April 14, 2004, in Willamette Valley Medical Center, McMinnville. She was 94. Private interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park, McMinnville.
She was born Jan. 8, 1910, in Creswell, daughter of Guy Arnold and Ellenora Colcord Armitage. She was raised and educated in Portland and graduated from Washington High School in 1928. After graduating from Willamette University in 1936, she was employed by the state of Oregon as a social worker in McMinnville.
On Oct. 11, 1945, she and Lowell Warden Pearson married.
Mrs. Pearson retired in 1975. She enjoyed traveling and was a member of the National Social Science Honor Society and a member of Pi Gamma Mu Sorority.
Her family said, "Mom loved spending time with her family."
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Survivors include a son, Lowell Pearson of McMinnville; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donors' favorite charities. ~~~

Miriam H. Armitage was the granddaughter of James Arlus Armitage and Hester Ann (Larimer) Armitage of Lane County, Oregon. Her four great-grandparents were distinguished Oregon pioneers George Henry Armitage & Sarah Jane (Stevens) Armitage and Eli Coulter Larimer & Caroline Lavanchia (Dixon) Larimer.
