William H. "Bill" Padgett was a long-time resident of Valley County, Montana, especially the towns of Fort Peck and Glasgow. Mr. Padgett lived to the age of 104. His funeral card says he was born in Carrolton County, Missouri. There is no such county. The 1910 census shows William was born in Missouri. The 1920 -1940 census records state he was born in Kansas. His 1926 marriage license shows he was born in Argentine, Wyandotte, Kansas. He moved to northeast Montana in 1913.

Bill was a veteran of World War One.

Married to Christine C. "Tena" Fuhrman of Baylor, Valley County, Montana, on 04 December 1926. Bill worked for many years for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the Fort Peck Dam Project. He was a plumber for the Corps.

William had several siblings including his brother
John Wesley Padgett

who moved with him to Montana in 1913. His father's name was Samuel Archie Padgett. His marriage certificate to Tena states that the name of his mother was unknown.

Bill and Tena had a daughter named Shirley. Shirley's married name was Shirley Sheppard.

Services for Bill were in the Congregational Church in Glasgow, with Pastor Joyce Kaplan officiating. Interment was in Highland Cemetery in Glasgow.
