Obit in Sioux Valley News, 12 February 1885, page 1:
Died at Lucky Valley, Iowa, at 7 o'clock Tuesday evening, February 3, 1885, Mrs. Florence S., wife of James L. Paden, of lung fever, in the 35th year of her age. She leaves a husband and three children to mourn her loss. Mrs. Paden was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Carson, Iowa, for several years and her life has been an exemplary one to all with whom she was associated. Mr. and Mrs. Paden, formerly of Carson, Iowa, moved to their new home one mile east of Lucky Valley, late last fall, since which time they have made many friends who sadly regret that their acquaintance has been shortened.
