Arveda V. Over, 92, of Clarview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Sligo RD 1, formerly of Reidsburg Road, Monroe Township, died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, in the Clarview facility. Born March 9, 1907, in Piney Township, Clarion County, she was a daughter of James I. and Lestie L. Steele Elder. Mrs. Over was a member of Zion Baptist Church at Reidsburg. She was married Oct. 30, 1924, to Harold A. Over, who died March 15, 1974. Mrs. Over and her husband were lifelong farmers. Surviving are five sons, Donald H. Over, Ronald D. Over, Carl L. Over, Vern E. Over and Glenn '' Windy'' Over, all of Sligo; four daughters, Gladys O. Taylor of Shippenville, Thelma A. Benn of DuBois and Louise Kifer and Doris J. '' Dode'' Stiltner, both of Sligo; 21 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, John Elder of Sligo; and a sister, Lulu B. Gourley of Clarion. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Over was preceded in death by five brothers, Sam Elder, Ralph Elder, Glenn '' Pete'' Elder, Paul Elder and George Elder; two sisters, Leota Laughlin and Arlene Davis; and two grand sons. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Bob Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Reidsburg Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Clarion-Forest VNA, Box 668, Knox, 16232, or to a charity of one's choice.
