Oswald, Jacob W., son of Jacob O. and Margaret (Wilford) Oswald; born July 13, 1881, in Bavaria, Germany; died of a heart condition Nov. 12, 1958, at his home in Hartstown, Pa.; aged 77 y. 3 m. 30 d. On Dec. 18, 1907, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Erb at O'Neill, Nebr. He was ordained minister on Oct. 29, 1915, at O'Neill, Nebr. Later he served Mennonite congregations at Beemer, Nebr., Beaver Crossing, Nebr. and Sunnyside, Conneaut Lake, Pa. He was a member of the Sunnyside Mennonite Church at the time of his death. Two children preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife, 8 children (Helen-Mrs. Harold Steider, Conneaut Lake, Pa.; Ruth-Mrs. Ray Steider, Conneautville, Pa.; Esther-Mrs. Christ Hjorth, Clarkson, Nebr.; Harry, Nampa, Idaho; John, Hartstown, Pa.; Paul, Manson, Iowa; Delmar, Oil City, Pa.; and Donald, Triangle, Va.), 9 brothers and sisters (Mrs. John Erb, Frazee, Minn.; Mrs. Chris Schantz, Bencroft, Nebr.; Peter, Wisner, Nebr.; Joseph and Samuel, both of Beemer, Nebr.; Reuben, Benjamin, and Amos all of Frazee, Minn.; and Daniel, West Point, Nebr.), 36 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Nov. 15 at the Sunnyside Church in charge of Harvey Schrock and Daniel Johns; burial in adjoining cemetery.
