Charles Theodore Osmon died of ersypilus (?), (not sure about spelling), a form of ergot poisoning probably caused by contaminated grain, while his company was doing guard duty in Henderson, KY. His wife had to take a wagon down to KY to bring his body back to Daviess Co., IN.
