______________

James Polk Nuckolls, A prominent farmer, aged sixty-four years, died Friday at midnight of Bright's disease, at his home in this city. He was a native of Virginia and a Confederate veteran.

Mr. Nuckolls was twice married. Two children, a son and a daughter by his first wife survive him. Also a widow, his second wife, to whom he married in 1904 at Madisonville. She was Mrs. Fowler, a sister of Hon. Ruby Laffoon, who was with his brother-in-law when he died. Shortly after his second marriage, Mr. Nuckolls left his farm in the country and came to the city to reside. His family lived on the corner of Virginia street and Eleventh avenue.

The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock by Rev. H. D. Smith, pastor of the Christian church, of which deceased was a member. A large number of the friends of the family from the country as well as from the city attended the burial at Riverside cemetery.

Mr. Nuckolls was an excellent citizen and an upright, honest man. His friends were numerous and his death causes much sorrow. He was born in 1844.
