Son of Niels Andersen (1793-1854) and Giertrud Hansdatter (1802-1857) Siblings: Dorthea Nielsdatter (1832-1894,) Hans Nielsen (1834-1916,) Ole Nielsen (1840-1925,) Jensine Nielsen (1844-1935,) and Caroline Nielsen Mathiasen (1847-1929.) All were born in Midskov, Mesinge, Odense, Bjerge, Denmark. All died in Denmark except Caroline who immigrated to Omaha, Nebraska, and died in Kearney County, Nebraska, and is buried in the Fredericksburg Danish Lutheran Churchyard near Minden.
