4/21/1983 - Clarion News - Allen M. Myers Dies - Allen M. Myers, 72, of RD 3 New Bethlehem, died early Tuesday, April 19, 1983, in the Brookville Hospital. Born June 24, 1910, in Porter Township, he was a son of the late Samuel M. and Ella C. Himes Myers. Mr. Myers was a lifelong farmer in Porter Township and had also been a miner. He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post in New Bethlehem. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Dee Miller of Fairmount City; and a number of neices and nephews. One brother, Foster and three sisters, Mrs. Edith Girt, Mrs. Myrtle Glinkerman and Mrs. Mary Beer, preceded him in death. Services were at 11:00 a.m. Thursday (today) from the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion with Robert Shaffer and the Rev. Kenneth Brougham of the Springside Baptist Church, New Bethlehem, officiating. Burial was in the Salem Cemetery at Frogtown.
