`Mr. and Mrs. Marcellus Murdock, 230 South Rutan Avenue. Before her marriage, Mrs. Murdock was Miss Mable Armour. She was a charter member of the Baby Camp, a member of the Thursday Afternoon Cooking Club and the College Hill Bridge Club. Mr. Murdock is a Rotarian and a member of the Wichita and Country Clubs. Marsh Murdock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Murdock, completed his high school work in three years and was an honor student in the 1921 graduating class. WICHITA EAGLE EX-CHAIRMAN MURDOCK DIES
Marsh M. Murdock, former chairman of the board of the Wichita Eagle, died Friday in California. He was 84. Mr. Murdock had been an assistant to his father, the publisher of the family-owned Eagle, in the late 1940s and 1950s. His father, Marcellus Murdock, was board chairman and president from 1963 until his death in 1970. Marsh Murdock was named chairman in April 1970. He moved to California in the early 1950s and had most recently lived in Fremont, Calif. He is survived by two sons, Marc of Kansas City, Mo., and Neil of Coldwater; two sisters, Victoria Bloom of Sarasota, Fla., and Janet Jennings of Kansas City, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
