WENDELL MUIR

Wendell L. Muir passed away peacefully at his home, in Santa Clara, Utah, from pulmonary fibrosis. He was 88 years old. He was born Sept. 5, 1921, in Randolph, Utah, to Lawrence Grant Muir and Orrie Calder.

Wendell married Martha Adams in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple June 24, 1947. They were married 62 years. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission from 1942 to 1944, in the Northern States Mission.

He was a military veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946.

He was a pharmacist for 54 years; 10 years in Grace, Idaho, and the remaining years in Las Vegas. He retired at the age of 82.

Wendell is survived by his wife, Martha; daughters, Suzanne (Glade) Covington of Las Vegas, Kathleen (Dean) Barnum of St. George, Utah, Elizabeth (Paul) Furgeson of Magna, Utah, and Lisa Davis of St. George; son, David (Christine) Muir of Santa Clara; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a brother, L. David (Nedra) Muir of St. George; sister, Shana (Kenneth) Vernon of Woodruff, Utah; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy (Grant) Muir of Ogden, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Grant Muir.

A visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd., in St. George. A second visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, with funeral services following, both at the Santa Clara LDS 7th Ward Chapel, 3815 Rachel Drive, in Santa Clara, Utah.
