Pvt. Walter C. Morman entered The U.S. Army in Nov. 1943. He trained at Camp Barkeley, Tx. then served in France, Germany and Belgium. He was Killed In Action in Belgium. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Presidential Citation.

The Bronze Star Medal has been presented to Mr. and Mrs. Leonard C. Morman, Route 1,Chandler, for their son, the late Pvt. Walter C. Morman.
The presentation was made at the post office in Chandler by Maj. Gilbert G. Wright, Jr., acting director of personel, Camp Fannin, who represented Col. Charles H. Brammell, Camp Commander. Accompanying Maj. Wright was First Lt. Beauford A. Thompson, storage officer.
Maj. Wright presented the award in the name of the Commander-in-Chief and read the following War Department citation: "For heroic achievement in action against the enemy on December 11, 1944, in Germany."
