Elvera S. Meyer, 90, formerly of Kiel, died Saturday evening, February 3, 2007 at Willowdale Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein.

She was the former Elvera S. Hahn born December 11, 1916 in the Town of Herman, daughter of the late Louis & Lillie Karstaedt Hahn.

Elvera was a graduate of Howards Grove High School.

On November 21, 1936 she married Alfred Otto Meyer at Schwartzwald.

Elvera and her husband farmed in the Town of Schleswig from 1947 until their retirement.

Alfred preceded her in death on March 19, 1995.

She was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ, Kiel and the Merry-Go-Round Club.

Elvera was a loving & caring mother & grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially at family gatherings and special events. She never said no to a favor or request and was always willing to help no matter what the circumstances. She also enjoyed dancing, sewing and playing cards, belonging to a number of card clubs. Elvera had recently celebrated her 90th birthday with family and friends. Survivors include her children: Lee (Janet) Meyer, Green Bay, Lillie (Rodney) Rabe, Kiel, Debra (Delbert) Haas, Elkhart Lake, nineteen grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. She is further survived by three daughters-in-law, Karen (Ron) Meyer-Detiege, Greenbush, Agnes Meerstein and Patricia Meyer both of Plymouth and in-laws, Elmer Meyer, Sheboygan Falls and Adeline Kolb, Cleveland, nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Jerome & James Meyer, three grandsons, Jeffrey Rabe, Keith Meyer & Mark Haas, one brother Raymond (LaVerne) Hahn, daughter-in-law, Barb Meyer and in-laws, Willard Meyer, Lucille Meyer, Harold Kolb and infant, Dorothy Meyer.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at St. Peter United Church of Christ, Kiel with Rev. David Mercer officiating. Burial will take place in Schleswig Cemetery, Town of Schleswig, Rockville. Friends may call at the Church on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name.

Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, Kiel is assisting the family.
