CHINLE — Funeral services for Ruth Ann McCombs, 58, will be 10 a.m., Friday, April 24, at Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church, Stake Center (north of Chinle IHS turn off). Private burial will be will be at Mr. John Brown Jr.'s residence in Crystal.

McCombs died April 18, 2009, in Phoenix. She was born Sept. 10, 1950, in Rehoboth, into the Tangle People Clan for the Coyote Pass People Clan.

McCombs graduated from Provo High School in 1969, attended ASU and earned Bachelor's Degree from Brigham Young University in 1974, majoring in Early Childhood Development and Sociology. She was a member of the Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church since the age of 8 and was active in the church, holding many callings throughout her life. McCombs was a founding members of the "Lamanite Generation" (a BYU performing group) and traveled through out the country and internationally.

Survivors include her husband, Edward W. McCombs; son, Scott Preston McCombs; daughters, Sommer Nani Hovey, Crystal Tewa Begay; parents, John Brown Jr., Loncie Brown of Crystal; five grandchildren.

McCombs was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Russell McCombs.

A post burial reception will be at Crystal Chapter House, following burial
