Mrs. Matson's father, the late I. B. Woods, came to Wickenburg from Minnesota before the turn of the century. He built the house in which the Matsons reside at 161 Coconino Street in 1897. He was a deputy marshal, a cement contractor and freight hauler.

She was a past matron of Eastern Star; a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, PTA, Civil Defense and the Phoenix Philatelic Association.
Funeral services were held at 4 p. m. Tuesday in the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. James Wilson pastor officiating. Mrs Reuben Stifel sang "The End Of A Perfect Day" with Mrs. Randolph Patterson at the organ.
Gravesides rites in Wickenburg Cemetery were conducted by members of the Order of Eastern Star. Pallbearers were Carl Shride, Bill Bass, Roy Coxwell, Newt Aldous, John Burden and Harry Cooke, Jr.
