The Pioneer Death Toll
Michael Maloney
Michael Maloney of Augusta, who came to Montana in 1963, aged 56, died at his home near Augusta last week, of congestion of the lungs, after only three days illness. Such was the speedy progress of the dread disease that neither himself or his family had any idea of the near approach of death. He leaves a wife and three young children.
Mr. Maloney was a native of Ireland, and engaged in mining in Blackfoot and Bear Creek diggings, and in 1876 he removed to the South Fork of Sun River and engaged in farming and stock raising. He left his family well provided for.
