FRIEDERICH LUECKE SR. (d. 1920)

F.K.C. LUECKE OLD SETTLER OF COUNTY BURIED
Brought here from Haven, where he died at the home of his daughter with whom
he had made his home for years, Frederick Karl Luecke, pioneer settle of
Manitowoc county and one of its oldest residents, was buried today, funeral
services being held from the home of Fred Luevke (sic), Marshal street. Mr.
Luecke was one of the early day settlers of the county, having located here
in 1847, at Centerville. He was born in Germany and was 90 years old at
death.
In 1856 Mr. Luecke married Elizabeth Brust and located on a farm in that town.
In 1864 he removed to Iowa and farmed there for eleven years, when he returned
to Town Centerville and bought and operated a farm there. In 1891 he turned the
farm over to one of his sons and mained (sic) in Town of Centerville with the
exception of seven years' resident in this city. A year and a half ago he went
to his son-in-law's home, where he died.
A widow and five children survive; Mrs. Wilhelmina Boettcher, Ackley, Minn.;
Mrs. Anna Burdick, Dourath, Wis., Fred and Heinrich, this city and Mrs. A.
Gutknecht of Haven; also two brothers, Louis in Idaho,and August in Michigan,
forty-four grandchildren and thirty-three great grand children and there (sic)
great great grandchildren.
