Brenton "lil" Lane, Jr. – Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class, U.S. Navy, born May 8, 1985 in Ark City, KS, died Saturday, April 16, 2011. Brenton served two tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. While serving in Afghanistan he received the U.S. Navy Commendation of Valor, Combat Meritorious Advancement and a Purple Heart. He is survived by his mother, Mary Combs; father, Brenton (Janette) Lane, Sr.; five siblings, Alana (Robert) Butler, Ike (Alissa) Douglas, Kevin Douglas, Luke Giles and Emily Lane; nephews, Nathan Mims, Kennedy, Diego and Elijah Butler; nieces, Madison and Jessica Lane, Brooklin Walker, Morgan Adams, Harlie and Baylie Douglas; grandparents, Jimmie and Frances Yarber, James and Betty Stringfellow, Sr., Pat Lane and the late B.B. Lane; aunts, Brenda McKinney and Shawn Renollet; uncles, James Stringfellow, Jr. and Britt Lane; many cousins and friends. The family will receive friends at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Monday, April 25, 2011, from 5-8 p.m. Graveside services and interment will be held Tuesday at 11:45 a.m. in Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, FL with full military honors rendered.
