Viola D. Kreider, 89, of Cheyenne Wells, CO, and formerly of Des Moines passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at her home in Cheyenne Wells.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 2, 2016, at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines. Visitation with the family will be from 12 noon until 1 p.m. Saturday at McLaren's Chapel.
Viola was born on June 25, 1927, in Peru, IA, to Wesley and Ruby (Emerson) Deremiah. She graduated from North High School in Des Moines. Viola and Ray Kreider Jr. married February 21, 1945, and lived in Des Moines until 1965. They moved to Manitou Springs, CO and lived there until 1990, Mesa, AZ from 1990 to 2010, and St. Louis from 2011 to 2015. Viola lived at Cheyenne Manor in Cheyenne Wells, CO until her death. She was an active member of TTT and the Methodist Church. Viola was dedicated to her family and loved to travel.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Ray Kreider Jr.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy (Jim) and Charla; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
