Annas Amelia (Knickerbocker) Irwin was the daughter of John Orange and Mary H. (DeWitt) Knickerbocker. She was the wife of Peter Rose Irwin. They were married Honk Hill, Wawarsing, Ulster Co., New York, September 22, 1853. Peter died January 11, 1896.

IRWIN.--Mrs. Peter Irwin, who lived in Ridgway many years ago, mother of J. H. Irwin, of this place, died last night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. O. Ellithrope, at Carlo, this county, where she had been staying recently. Mrs. Irwin was about 75 years old and is well remembered by the older residents of Ridgway. She had been in poor health for the last three years, but it was only about a week ago that she became dangerously ill. Mrs. Irwin is survived by the following children: Mrs. J. K. Lewis, of Pittsburgh; Mrs. Perry Moore, of Nebraska, Pa.; Mrs. H. O. Ellithrope, of Carlo; Rev. D. C. Irwin, of Delavan, New York; J. H. Irwin of Ridgway; and Mrs. Flora
Bogle of Mauch Chunk, Pa. The funeral will be held at Carlo on Thursday.
