Mr. Klundt died Saturday, June 7, 2008, at his home.
He was born April 10, 1988, in Leavenworth, the son of Sidney and Heather Hein Klundt. He graduated with honors from Lawrence High School in 2006. He was a scholarship student at Baker University where he had completed his sophomore year.
Mr. Klundt was active in Boy Scout Troop 173 in Leavenworth and Troop 61 in Lawrence. He started the chess club at Lawrence High School and served as its president for three years. He also volunteered at camps for the disabled for many years. He enjoyed caring for and spending time with his pets.
Survivors include his mother, Heather Hein, Lawrence; his father, Sidney Klundt, Leavenworth; a brother, Levi Klundt, Lawrence; a sister, Serena Hein, Kansas City, Kan.; his maternal grandfather, George Hein, Leavenworth; and his paternal grandmother, Emily Klundt, Leavenworth.
