Michael Iandoli
Birth: Sep. 1, 1948
Plymouth
Plymouth County
Massachusetts, USA
Death: Jun. 30, 2005
Plymouth

Dad was one of the many children of Louis Iandoli and Elizabeth Lambert. Having so many siblings, he developed a yearning to set out on his own and explore the world. It was because of that that while the rest of his high school class was attending their graduation ceremony, he was on a plane heading to his bootcamp.

He served in the Navy during Vietnam on the USS Tripoli in the Antisubmarine Helicopter Squadron 3. He had many stories of visiting Hong Kong, Japan, and especially of eating 'monkey meat on a stick' in the Philippines. After his enlistment, he continued to explore, working odd jobs as he traveled around the country. He fondly recalled canoing down the Potomac river, as well as living at Fontaine Bleu Street in New Orleans. Eventually he made his way to Denver where he met my mother. It was an interesting turn of events, because he was actually there to meet her roommate. While living in Colorado they married and had their first daughter, Christy. A couple years later they moved back to Plymouth Massachusetts, where my dad was originally from. Around that time they had their twin daughters; Marina and myself. At this point dad settled down and would live out the rest of his life in Plymouth.

He enjoyed nothing more than fishing for striped bass off of Plymouth beach. He knew all the best fishing spots, which he guarded from curious fishermen. I have fond memories of spending the evening at the beach with my dad and sister. He lived long enough to experience the love of his two grandchildren, Mattie and Kasey. And was always exceedingly proud of his children, whom he adored so much.

I can't believe it's been 8 long years without you. I've come to accept that there will always be an "emptiness". No one can replace your stories, cooking, or snow forts, but they are always in my heart
