Elza Huffard was a native of Missouri. He studied at David Lipscomb College, Southeast Missouri State, Wayne University, Temple University, and Harding University. He served churches in Arkansas, Illinois, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. He was the president of Northeastern Christian Junior College from 1962 to 1980 and president emeritus following. Brother Huffard played key leadership roles with Shults-Lewis Children's Home, Camp Shiloh, and Timothy Hill Children's Ranch.
