Valentine T. "Bud" House

Birth: Feb. 14, 1868
Death: Nov. 5, 1948

Valentine T. House was the son of James W. House and Claressy Yager. He was born on February 14, 1868 in Grayson County, Kentucky. His nickname was "Bud."

Valentine's first wife was Mary Mattingly Parrish. She was born Mar 6, 1876 and died August 28, 1896. She is buried in the Miller Cemetery north of Caneyville with her two infant sons. One was stillborn on February 8, 1902 and the other stillborn on September 7, 1908.

His second wife was Martha Elmore, who was born November 28, 1880 and died May 7, 1966. She was the mother of their daughter Annie M. House, who was also buried in the Miller Cemetery. Annie was born May 31, 1898 and died November 12, 1900.

Valentine died on November 5, 1948. Martha and he were both buried in the Layman Cemetery, 3 miles west of Millwood, Kentucky.

His 1st wife was Mary Mattingly "Parrish" died 28 Aug 1896, so she was not the mother of the 2 infants that died after that date. They were Valentine and Manthas, so (son of V and M. was still correct) one died stillborn in 1902 and one died 1908 that are buried in the Miller Cemetery.

Valentine and his first wife, Mary Parrish, did have one child, a son Charles Frederick House. He was born 16 Jun 1862 and died 6 Dec 1956.He is buried in the Frank-Embrey cemetary located on the watershed road in Grayson County.
