LEWISTON — Anthony Paradis Houghton passed away unexpectedly December 31, 2011. He was the beloved son of Rae Jean H. Grzymala.
He was raised and educated in Georgia. As a young adult, he moved to Brazil, spending many years there. He became fluent in Portuguese and taught English as a second language there. More recently he divided his time between Brazil and the U.S. When stateside, he owned and operated a business as a contract painter until 2009.
He had a very engaging personality, with a quick wit, and always looked for the best in others. He made many friends along his way and he will be sadly missed.
Mr. Houghton was predeceased by his twin sister Angela; his grandparents, Dr. Raymond and Marion Houghton and his uncle, Raymond (Bing) Houghton, Jr.
He leaves behind his wife, Elizangela of Rio Comprido, Brazil; his mother, Rae Jean Grzymala; his stepfather, Robert Grzymala of Gray; his uncle, John Houghton of Los Angeles, CA; his step-brother,Stephen Grzymala of Los Angeles, CA and stepsister, Dr. Elizabeth Jordan of Richmond, VA.
