Charles "Butch" William Houghton Jr., 65, a native of South Charleston, WV and a resident of Denham Springs, LA passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2013.

A U.S. Air Force veteran, Butch worked for FMC Chemical Plant in West Virginia and for Bernard and Burke Consulting in Baton Rouge.

He was gun enthusiast and loved sports. He was involved with "Baton Rouge Bombers" and "Tornados" softball teams but always made time for some football, hunting and fishing. He was an active amateur radio operator with the call sign KC5AD (SK). He was a member of the Baton Rouge Amateur Radio Club and the Livingston Amateur Radio Society.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years Rebecca "Becky" H. Houghton; sons: Chris Houghton and wife Maggie, and Steven Houghton; grandchildren: Major, Merranda, and Amber Houghton, Hunter Nesom, Dakota and Brock Houghton; sister Patricia Brison and brother Jerry Lee Johnson; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Mary Houghton Sr.; grandparents Charles Robert and Cynthia Houghton; and brother-in-law William "Bill" Brison.

Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Sunday, May 9, 2013 from 5-9pm and continuing on Monday, May 10, 2013 from 8am until time of services at 10am. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
