Son of John Hoskins and Hannah Hodgson. First married Ruth Hodgson. Second married Naomi Stanley. Moved from PA to Guilford County, NC where he fought in the Battle of Guilford Court House. In 1811 moved to Clinton County,OH. Later moved to Tazewell County, Illinois. On May 3, 2008 he was honored as a veteran of the American Revolution in a ceremony at Dillon Cemetery. The newer tombstone that originally had April 1 with his date of death was corrected before the ceremony.
