Sister Mary Anthony Horrell, OSF, died at Mercy hospital at 5:55 a.m. Monday following a brief illness. She entered the convent of the Third Order of the Sisters of St. Francis in 1897. For over 56 years she was a primary department teacher. She had taught for over 20 years at Perry. Her last assignment was at Dennison. She retired in 1956. Sister Anthony was born in West Louisville, KY., on May 20, 1847 the daughter of Frank and Bridgett (Cravens) Horrell. Surviving are: a sister, Mrs. Lydia Carrico of Popular Bluff, MO., and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins, including a niece, Sister Mary Myra, OSF, now teaching at Lexington, NE. Three sisters are dead, including Sister Mary Paschal, OSF, who died in 1957, four brothers and her parents are also dead. Services will be in the Mercy Hospital Chapel. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
