John is listed in in old St. Ambrose burial record as dying in 1910 at the age of 35 yrs. He was the son of Thomas Hogan and Eileen. In an 1880 census, he was 5 yrs. old. His father was working as a farmer. Their family included Vincent born 1866, Annie 1869, William 1872, Edward 1876, John 1875, Michael 1880, Theresa 1866. In a 1910 census, John was working as an engineer at a railroad. He was married to C. Agnes Hogan. They had 2 children: Clarence 1908 and Katherine 1909. He died 1 year later, presumably from an accident on the railroad.
