Jack Doyle Hinson, a Crosbyton area resident most of his life, died about 5 a.m. Friday following a prolonged illness. He was claimed by death in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital.

Mr. Hinson was 68.

Memorial rites were at 2 p.m. Sunday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Rine, pastor, officiating.

Burial followed in Spur Cemetery, with Adams Funeral Home directing arrangements.

Serving as pallbearers were Sherman Robinett, J.C. Freeman, Sonny Russell, Jim Faulkenberry, Charley Cowley, and Tommy Davis.

Doyle Hinson was born Aug. 31, 1911 in Dickens County. He and the former Thelma Howell were married Nov. 4, 1929 in Dickens.

Mr. Hinson was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of Crosbyton Masonic Lodge AF&AM #1020.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma, of Crosbyton; two sons, Don Hinson of Spur and Wright Hinson, who is serving with the U.S. Army in Germany; one daughter, Doylene Winkler of Kalgary; two sisters, Lossie Dean of Lames and Dockey Germany of Brownfield; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
