She was born on July 3, 1913 to William and Laura Howell in Dickens County.
She married the late Jack Doyle Hinson on November 4, 1929 in Dickens, Texas. Thelma previously worked at the Crosbyton Clinical Hospital and as a postmaster in Kalgary before becoming a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Crosbyton and attended Doris Sunday school class. Thelma was known for making the best fried pies.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jack Doyle Hinson; her daughter Doylene Winkler; her sons Royce ”Don” Hinson and Wright Hinson; her brother Hubert Thomas Howell; her sisters Maudie Merle Robinet, Mabel Warden, and Meddie McElroy; her grandchildren Justin Hinson, Laci McCloy, James Hinson, and Pam Hinson.
Thelma is survived by seven grandchildren, nineteen great- grandchildren and twelve great- great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 20, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Crosbyton, Texas with Rev. Les Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in the Spur Cemetery under the care of Adams Funeral Home.
