Richard was the son of Earl and Rose Herron of East Aurora, New York. He moved with his mother and grandmother to Tulsa, Oklahoma. He married Jo Ella Oliver in June of 1946 and they were married until his death from a stroke in 1985. They had one son, Richard J. "Rick" Herron of Dallas, Texas. This World War II veteran was my dad, and I was and am very proud of him. He was the best husband and father in the world and I will love and miss him for the rest of my life.
