Richmond Hill - Luther Franklin Hennessee, born September 3, 1916 in Athens, TN, ended his journey June 25, 2005, at home with his wife of 67 years by his side.

He was a member of International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local 26, he retired from Union Camp in 1979 and since then spent his time taking care of his family, working with his bees, and rescuing birds and small animals. Luther was an interesting, intelligent and honorable man, and his death has created a void that will never be filled.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Morris Hennessee; three sons, James Franklin (Betty), Billy Morris (Margaret) and Gary Luther; two daughters, Gail Greene and Debbie Hennessee; five grandchildren, Paul Hennessee, Andrea Preston (Jeff), Gary Greene, Gary Hennessee Jr., and Megan Hennessee and three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lula Roberts, Nellie Small and Sallie Ellis and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Monday, J une 27, 2005 at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel.

Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at Richmond Hill First Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Paul Hennessee, Gary Greene, Gary Hennessee Jr., Jeff Preston, Bill Valentine and Mike Floyd.
