Hennessee was born Aug. 5, 1939, in Miami, Fla., to Evelyn and Luther Hennessee.
Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Betty; brothers, Bill (Margaret) and Gary Hennessee and sisters, Gail Greene and Debbie Hennessee. While Franklin and Betty had no children, he leaves several nieces and nephews, Paul Hennessee, Andrea Preston (Jeff), Gary Greene, Gary Hennessee and Megan Hennessee.
Hennessee was a paratrooper in the U.S. Army, worked for the FBI, worked for the Corps of Engineers and worked many years overseas in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Berlin, Germany, during which time he traveled extensively and became proficient in several languages. During the last 20 years, he owned First Software in Conyers where he designed technical systems and developed software programs for various enterprises including the 1996 Olympics.
More recently, Hennessee returned to Richmond Hill where he was a partner in TTC Waste Services. Hennessee, or "Jim" as he was also known, is described as having a brilliant mind, insatiable intellectual curiosity and a delightfully dry sense of humor. He was courageous, kind and had a generous heart. He was a staunch Republican and fiercely patriotic.
Graveside services were June 28 at Richmond Hill First Baptist Church Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to Heartland Hospice Services/Conyers, 1374 Manchester Drive, Conyers, GA 30012, or Atlanta Cancer Care Foundation, 5670 Peachtree Dunwoody Road, Suite 1100, Atlanta, GA 30342.
