Levi brought his family from Bennington, VT, in 1785 and built a house of logs, the only lumber being that which formed the box bed of the sleigh in which the family moved. In 1798 he built a large 2-story house, where he kept tavern. In 1800 he moved to Swan Town Falls, where he had mills and died 31 Nov. 1831 aged 67. Ref. Militia stationed at Swanton Falls; Shadrach was Major; served in Battle of Plattsburg 1814; Levi, Simeon and Josiah. p. 193, Silas sold goods in Swanton in 1803.
