Unknown father
Minnie was born out of wedlock. I haven't been able to determine who her father was and, given the year that she was born, it isn't likely that it will ever find out.
Since childhood she only knew Arthur John Hartley as her father figure and for that reason I have configured this memorial to reflect him as her father, whether biological or adopted.
Minnie loved to cook. Most family pictures of Minnie show her in an apron. Her descendants still have two large recipe boxes filled to the brim with recipes that were her favorites. Some recipes read like a chemist's formula with ingredients such as bromide for a peanut brittle recipe.
