Winthrop Harrison
Services Thursday
Dr. Charles S. Poling, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, conducted funeral services for Winthrop (Win) Harrison at 1:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon in the Wickenburg Chapel. Mrs. Paul Swaney, accompanied by Mrs. Beulah Patterson, sang. Burial was to follow in the Wickenburg Cemetery.
Mr. Harrison died before dawn Tuesday in Community Hospital where he had been a patient for several weeks following a heart attack. It was a heart condition which caused him to retire in 1948 from the investment department of the New York Life Insurance Co., in New York
City and come to Wickenburg in October of that year to make his home. He had been with the New York Life for 32 years.
Mr. Harrison was born May 13, 1897, in Hoboken, N. J. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge in Westwood, N. J., served in the Navy in World War I and belonged to a New York post of the American Legion. He was active in the Presbyterian Church here.
Surviving are the widow, Helen Harrison, and two nephews, Raymond Harrison of Waldwick, N.J., and Richard Harrison of Woodcliff Lake, N.J.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Harrison requested that donations be made to Community Hospital instead.
Pallbearers were Paul Swaney, Don McNerney, Dr. Forrest Harvey, C. M. Williams, E. A. Stein and Bill Bass.
