George L. Hanns, 74, who farmed near Buck Creek for 30 years, died at 5:45 a.m. today in Americana Nursing Center. Mr. Hanns lived near Buck Creek.

He was born near Mount Eden in Washington County but lived most of his life in the Lafayette area.

He married Anna Louise Cook in 1918 and she died in 1925.

He was a member of the Mount Eden Church.

Surviving are six sons, George E. of Punta Gorda, Fla., Harry L. Norden, Calif., Merle of West Lafayette, Donald of Chicago, 111., Vernon of Vincennes, and Dale of Lafayette; two daughters, Mrs. Helen L. VanHeest of Richwood, N.J., and Mrs. Ruth M. Raw-les of Oxford; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Berry of Scotts-berg and Mrs. Stella M. Stolte of Lafayette; one brother, Edward Hanns of Lafayette; 26 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
