Her name was Una Mae Gooch in the 1920 Census while her natural mother Gladys ( Worley ) Gooch, was living.


Gladys Mae Batterson Gum, 80, of Stratford, Texas, and a longtime resident of Texhoma, died Saturday, June 27, 1998.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Texhoma United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dane Lemmons officiating. Burial will be in Texhoma, Texas, Cemetery by Dawson-Welch Funeral Home of Texhoma, Okla.
Mrs. Gum was born and raised in Texhoma where she graduated from high school. She attended one year of college. With her husband, she farmed and ranched in the area.
Mrs. Gum and her husband moved to Amarillo after their retirement until she entered Coldwater Manor in Stratford. She was a Methodist.
She married Buster Eugene Gum in 1941 at Texhoma.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Gary Gum of Texhoma and Tim Gum of Kennesaw, Ga.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be to Coldwater Manor Nursing Home which will be accepted at Dawson-Welch Funeral Home, 715 W. Main, P.O. Box 445, Texhoma, Okla., 73949.
