A nurseryman and a member of Smyrna Church of Christ, he served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
The son of Johnny Claude an Maxie Hennessee Grissom, he is survived by his wife, Louie Roberts Grissom; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Martha Grissom of McMinnville; daughter, Bennie Kay Long of Beersheba Springs; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at High's Chapel with Robert Jefferies and Ernest Laws officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until 9 p.m. today at High's.
High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
