Mrs. Pauline Wittke died early Monday morning, after being ill for several months. About three months ago she broke her right arm, and because of her advanced age, failed to recover from the shock of the injury.

The deceased was born in Huntlosen, Oldenburg, Germany on Jan. 16, 1857, and attained the age of 79 years. In 1874 she emigrated to this country with her widowed mother, two sisters, and a brother. On March 10, 1886 she married Robert Wittke, a rancher and prospector in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

Mr. and Mrs. Wittke then made their home in Beaver Dam, Shawano, Kewaunee, Brillion, and Oconto, before coming here in 1898, where they lived to the time of their death.

On March 7 Mr. Wittke passed away in death after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Wittke suffered greatly from the shock of her husband's death, and a few days later fell and fractured her right arm.

Surviving are the children, Dr. Rubertus Wittke, Milwaukee; Mrs. Alma Taylor, this city; Mrs. Tusnelda Ericksen, Pasadena, Calif., Mrs. Leonie Sontag, Milwaukee; Mrs. Margaret McEathron, Los Angeles, Calif., and 17 grandchildren.

Mrs. Wittke was a member of the Damensektion, Frauenverein, and Woman;s club.

The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the late home at 611 Bridge street. The Rev. Anton Hatlestad will officiate, and interment will be made in Graceland cemetery.
