Gourley, Georgia A.
Georgia A. Gourley, 82, of Newburgh, died Sunday, March 25, 2007, at St. Mary's Medical Center.
Georgia began her career in business as a secretary at Servel in Evansville. She and Floyd started their marriage by raising 4,500 turkeys in Spencer County. Georgia and Floyd established their business, Floyd J. Gourley Concrete Contractor in 1952. Georgia was the secretary, dispatcher, and bookkeeper for the business. In the early 1970s Georgia and Floyd began the development of Gourley Place. After Floyd's death in 1990 Georgia and her son, Mike, continued the concrete business. Georgia recently completed the development of Gourley Place. Georgia enjoyed spending her leisure time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She found pleasure in watching the wildlife and mowing the grass on her 40 acres.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Floyd J. Gourley in 1990.
Georgia is survived by her daughter, Sherra Wilson and husband, Rick; daughter, Pamela Trickey and husband, Ken; son, Mike Gourley and wife, Billie; grandson, Jeremy Aigner and wife, Katie; grandson, Jordan Aigner and wife, Amanda; grandson, Jeremy Russelburg and wife, Ashli; grandson, Damian Gourley; granddaughter, Caytlyn Trickey; granddaughter, Paige Trickey; great-granddaughter, Kaylee Russelburg; and great-grandsons, Cooper Aigner, Weston Aigner, Brooks Aigner, and John Aigner.
The family would like to give a special thanks to her lifetime friends, Margaret and Bill Hagen.
Services 2 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2007, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, officiated by Reverend Dwight Bland, with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday from 1 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from noon until service time at Alexander Newburgh Chapel.
