GATHERS Sylvester S. - Sylvester S. Gathers, one of the well-known citizens of the southern end of the county, died Wednesday, January 19, 1921, at his home in Curllsville after a long illness. He had several strokes of paralysis, also a hemorrhage of the stomach. Mr. Gathers had been postmaster at Curllsville nearly eight years. Besides his wife, he leaves four children, namely: Mrs. Ben Fox, of Brinkerton; Mrs. Frank Botzer, of New Kensington; Edgar Gathers, of Sharon, and Sloan Gathers, at home. He is also survived by four grandchildren. The funeral was held on Friday, Jan. 21st, and interment was made at Sligo. Source: Clarion Democrat, January 27, 1921
