YAKIMA - Thelma Anna Gronewald passed away in Yakima, Washington on March 31, 2011. She was born in La Grande, Oregon on January 14, 1922 to Floyd and Gladys Kendall. She met her husband, Charles Gronewald, in Walla Walla, Washington. They were married for 57 years, most of which were spent in Goldendale, Washington, where she was a homemaker on the family ranch. They had three children; sons Gary and Ken, and daughter Nancy. They retired to Clarkston, Washington, and she later moved to Yakima to be near her grandson, Jeff Van Troba, and his family.

Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck, and her daughter, Nancy, as well as her parents. She is survived by her sons Ken and Gary, and son-in-law Albert Van Troba, 8 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held in Goldendale, Washington at Mountain View Cemetery on June 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m.
