She was the fifth of seven children of Jacob LONG (1832-1913) and Hannah BURLEY (1829-1913).
While at a young age, Clara lost three of her sisters to death. At age two, she lost her five year old sister Mary C. in March of 1861. At age three, she lost her one year old sister Juniata W. in Decemeber of 1861. At age twelve, she lost her 9 year old sister Annie M. in September of 1871.
Her father left the family to fight in the Civil War. He returned, but later left the family permanently sometime after the 1870 Census when Clara was eleven years old.
Around 1890 she was united in marriage to Andrew Jackson FOSTER (1843-1911). They had two children:
1. Bertha Maude FOSTER (1891-1974)
2. Cloyd Franklin FOSTER Sr. (1893-1975) (my paternal grandfather)
She died of cancer of the uterus at age 43.
She is buried beside her husband Andrew Jackson FOSTER.
