In the engagement announcement of Miss Jennie Louise Offutt to Mr. Leo Fentress of Muhlenberg County, it was stated that the ceremony was to be performed Tuesday, July 22 [1902], at the home of the bride's brother, Mr. H. L. Offutt, in Louisville. Miss Offutt was the second daughter of Mr. E. Davis Offutt, of the Beechwood neighborhood, and a charming and popular young lady. Mr. Fentress was the editor of the "Muhlenburger" published at Greenville, and a clever and popular newspaper man. After the ceremony, the couple made their home in Greenville at the home of the groom.
