Troy was born in Aquilla, Texas to Susie Durham and Steve Farquhar but grew up in and around the Whitney area. Troy farmed all his life in Texas and Arkansas. He loved his overalls and his tractor and sharing watermelons with his neighbors and great friends of thirty one years, Don and Pat Cooper.
One of five children, Troy was preceded in death by both of his parents and all of his siblings as well his first wife of seventy years, Pearl Gotcher; also two daughters, one son, one grandson, one granddaughter and one great grandson. He is survived by his second wife of ten years, Janet; two stepsons, Larrie and Steve; two stepdaughters, Billie and Tonnie; two sons, two daughter-in-laws, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and other nieces, nephews and family and friends.
It has been suggested dress be casual and overalls are acceptable as a tribute to Troy.
The family wishes to express our heartfelt appreciation for all the support and care given Troy by the precious people at Hospice of the Heart of Whitney and Lake Whitney Medical Center. Thank you and God bless you all.
