"HENRY ELDER, PIONEER, IS CALLED AWAY" Henry Harrison Elder, aged pioneer resident of Centralia, and one of the well known rancher residents of Lewis county, was summoned by death yesterday afternoon. The end came while the old man was ill at his home,116 North Washington Avenue.
Decedent is survived by eight children and his widow. His death is the first death in the immediate family. The sons and daughters are Mrs. M.E. Bissett [BISSELL] of Oregon, Mrs. J. Flaze [FLAIZ] of Walla Walla,W.C. Elder of Fort Dodge, Ia., H.F. Elder of Washington, Kas.,Mrs. Rena Darlon, of Yreka, Cal.,F.H. Elder of Oreville, Cal., [OROVILLE] Charles F. Elder, of Quincy and Miss Anna Elder,a teacher of the public schools of Centralia.
The funeral arrangements will be decided when it is learned how many of Mr. Elder's children can attend.

Mr. Henry Harrison Elder passed away on Sunday, January 15th. Mr. Elder was born in Indiana on October 3rd, 1833, and was, consequently, in his seventy-eighth year at the time of his death. He was married in Iowa, December 14th, 1856.
He leaves a widow and eight children, namely: Mrs. Mamie E. Bissell, of Ashland, Oregon; Mrs. Jennie E. Faiz [FLAIZ], of Walla Walla; W.C. Elder, of Fort Dodge, Iowa; H.F. Elder, of Kansas; Mrs. Rena E. Darland, of Yreka, Cal.; Miss Annie Elder, who lives in Centralia; F.H. Elder, of Oraville (Oroville), Cal., and Chas. S. Elder, of Quincy, Wash.
The funeral was held on Tuesday from the family residence, on Washington Avenue, Elders Holbrook and Ham officiating. The interment was made in the Mountain View cemetery.
